PSV's 2017 Flu Season Reminder

February 22, 2017 | By Justin Jones

Pediatric Specialists of Virginia (PSV) is taking additional precautions during flu season to protect our patients and families.  With patient safety and care being our top priorities, all PSV employees have received their vaccine already.  Medical research studies have shown that vaccinating healthcare providers against the influenza virus is an effective way to prevent the spread of flu among patients and staff.

With that said, we ask patients and families to contact their care team if a child has experienced any of the following symptoms within the past 5 days:

  • Fever (≥100°F or feeling feverish but no temperature taken)
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Body aches, chills, and fatigue
  • Rash or other skin infections
  • Vomiting or diarrhea

If you have answered “yes” to one or more of these symptoms, we would suggest you do not visit until the individual has fully recovered.  To cancel/reschedule an appointment, please contact our appointment line at 703.876.2788.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation!
