Where did you grow up?
Greenville, South Carolina
Why did you become a doctor and why did you choose your specialty?
I loved working as a pediatric nurse and I chose to become a nurse practitioner to further provide my patients with a clear understanding of their medical conditions and treatments. I developed a specific interest in gastroenterology during a clinical rotation in NP school. It is my goal that my patients feel heard, comfortable, and well-informed during a visit with me.
How long have you practiced in the Washington, DC area and what do you like most about it?
I have been practicing healthcare in the Washington, DC area since 2017. I love many things about the area, including the diversity of foods, people, and activities to do in my free time.
What do you most enjoy doing outside of your clinical practice, when you’re not working?
When I am not in clinic, I enjoy trying out new restaurants, completing home DIY projects, baking, painting, and spending time with friends and family.
If you weren’t a doctor, what profession would you most likely be doing and why?
A career in policy change/activism, or healthcare education.
