Where did you grow up?
Miami, Florida and Rockville, Maryland
Why did you become a doctor and why did you choose your specialty?
When I entered nursing school, I always planned to become an advanced practice nurse in order to become more involved in the diagnosis and management of patients. I have always wanted to work with children and their families ever since I became a hospital volunteer in high school.
How long have you practiced in the Washington, DC area and what do you like most about it?
I have been practicing as a nurse since 2010 and became an advanced practice nurse in 2013. I love being close to a big city and enjoying all it has to offer including world class museums and restaurants but also outdoor adventures such as Great Falls or Harper's Ferry.
What do you most enjoy doing outside of your clinical practice, when you’re not working?
Spending time with family at local sites such as the National Zoo or traveling to a beach location.
Do you volunteer? If so, where?
I am a Girl Scouts of America troop leader and volunteer with preschoolers at Sunday school.
