We’re Listening – Patient Experience Survey
At Pediatric Specialists of Virginia (PSV), it’s important for us to understand how you feel about your care experience in our clinics so that we can continue to strive toward providing you the best patient and family-centered services. To hear from you, we have partnered with National Research Corporation (NRC) to ask all of our patient families for their opinions about their visits and for suggestions to improve.
Survey Firm
National Research Corporation is a nationally recognized leader in collecting and analyzing feedback from consumers about many topics including patient satisfaction with their care experience. NRC complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy and Security standards. The firm takes all necessary physical and electronic security measures to safeguard protected health information as they work with health care organizations to obtain anonymous feedback from their patients and families in order to improve the services they provide.
The Phone Survey
Within just a few days of the patient’s visit with a PSV practitioner, a call will be placed to the phone number given in the patient’s record for communication purposes. The call will be shown as coming from 703.848.6644. If no answer is received after three tries, a message will be left, if possible, with a toll-free number at NRC to return the call and take the survey. Patients will only be surveyed once for feedback on a specific practitioner at a single clinic location within a 12 month period before being eligible to receive another survey for the same practitioner at the same location. You may receive surveys about other PSV providers or if you see the same provider at two separate locations within the year.
The questionnaire is brief with only 10 short questions. First, you will be asked about your experience with the physician or other practitioner. Your feedback is very helpful to those individuals as they interact with patients and parents every day. You will be asked questions similar to the following:
- During your most recent visit, did this provider listen carefully to you?
- Did this provider give you easy to understand information about these health questions or concerns?
- What number would you use to rate this provider?
- What comments do you have about this provider?
You will also be asked two questions about your overall visit experience in the clinic office, apart from the individual provider.
- What is the one thing we could have done better to most improve your experience with this visit?
- Would you recommend this provider’s office to your family and friends?
Results Reporting
Pediatric Specialists of Virginia is committed to transparently sharing our patient families’ feedback on their experience of care. You may view these ratings and comments at PSVCare.org by searching for your practitioner’s name.
Star ratings are calculated based on survey responses and posted on the PSV website for each practitioner employed by PSV who works at least two days each week in a PSV clinic office. Comments are also shared —whether positive or negative; however, we do not post comments that are libelous, profane, or those that risk the privacy of our patients.
