Pediatric Specialists of Virginia (PSV) is proud to announce that PSV and the Virginia Department of Health are recognized partners with the CDC in the celebration of Get Smart Week 2015. This week is a national observance of appropriate antibiotic use and also the risk of antibiotic resistant bacteria when antibiotics are used inappropriately.
Here at PSV, we are providing educational information to families who come to the clinics during this week and also talking with staff about appropriate use of antibiotics. We also will be celebrating Get Smart Week on Thursday with an Ice Cream Social for the PSV Staff. We have been working at Inova Fairfax/Inova Children’s Hospital promoting Get Smart education to staff physicians, physicians in training, nurses, pharmacists, and the visitors to the hospital each day during the week. We have several poster presentations of interventions both at the hospital and in the community that we have on display.
For more information and resources about Get Smart Week, please visit the CDC's website.
