Patient Reviews:
"Dr. Pohl was very informative. We really enjoyed our visit with him. We look forward to seeing him again."

"Dr. Pohl did an incredible job with our son’s recent surgery. He made us feel at ease and he did a fantastic job. It was a quick and as smooth and painless a recovery as I think possible. Follow up visits with him were also wonderful. I definitely recommend him to anybody needing specialist in the future. Thank you so much!"

"Dr. Pohl was very compassionate and spent time with our son, and with us, explaining exactly what was going to happen during his procedure. He thoroughly explained the after care and asked if we needed any other questions to be answered. He is one of the best doctors that we've interacted with since our son has been born."

Where did you grow up?
I was born in Los Angeles and moved to Washington, DC for medical school.
Why did you become a doctor and why did you choose your specialty?
During medical school, I became interested in surgery, with a particular fascination for reconstructive procedures. I remained at The George Washington University in the Department of Surgery and Urology as a resident. During my rotation at the Children’s National Health System as a Urology resident, I found myself particularly drawn to Pediatric Urology and, more specifically, to understanding how best to treat patients with urinary tract infections and vesicouretal reflux.
How long have you practiced in the Washington, DC area and what do you like most about it?
Since 2002.
What do you most enjoy doing outside of your clinical practice, when you’re not working?
Watching my son play tennis and lacrosse.
Describe your proudest accomplishment as a provider and/or in your personal life:
Providing my patients living with spina bifida the opportunity to become independent with their urinary control.
If you weren’t a doctor, what profession would you most likely be doing and why?
Furniture maker, like my father and grandfather.
