Where did you grow up?
Iowa and then Virginia.
Why did you become a doctor and why did you choose your specialty?
I grew up in a very competitive, sports centered family. I played soccer my whole youth and ran cross country in high school. I’ve always been interested in medicine and have developed a passion for helping kids and young adults get back to the activities they love.
How long have you practiced in the Washington, DC area and what do you like most about it?
This is my first year practicing in the Washington, DC area, however I have almost 5 years of experience practicing in Virginia Beach/Hampton Roads area. What I like most about practicing in the Washington, DC area is the diversity of patient populations.
What do you most enjoy doing outside of your clinical practice, when you’re not working?
I love competing in CrossFit, running with my Australian Shepard/Border Collie, traveling and mountain climbing.
If you weren’t a doctor, what profession would you most likely be doing and why?
Adventure/Travel blogger so I could travel and mountaineer all over the world.
