Clinic Locations: Ashburn, Fairfax CCBD

Where did you grow up?
Sterling in Northern VA
Why did you become a doctor and why did you choose your specialty?
I always had a passion for caring for children in all different areas and being a nurse practitioner gave me the ability to care for the child and their family.

I have worked many years in urgent care and primary care as a nurse practitioner. Over the years I have missed working with pediatric hematology/oncology patients as I cared for them as a RN, so I am happy to be providing care now to patients and families in this area.
What do you most enjoy doing outside of your clinical practice, when you’re not working?
When I am not caring for children at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, I enjoy spending time with my family which include my husband and two daughters. I have a lot of family in the Northern VA area, so I also spend a lot of time getting together for family gatherings.
If you weren’t a doctor, what profession would you most likely be doing and why?
A teacher. I want to feel like I can share my knowledge and learning with others, which is why I became a nurse practitioner.
