Dr. Anupam Verma is a pediatric hematologist-oncologist at Pediatric Specialists of Virginia’s (PSV) Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD), specializing in pediatric and young adult acute leukemias, including high-risk and relapsed/refractory cases, as well as leukemia in children with Down syndrome. She is also interested in clinical trial development and inherited bone marrow failure syndromes. Board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology-oncology, Dr. Verma completed her fellowship at the University of Utah in 2012. She has contributed to multiple publications on childhood leukemia and related topics.
Dr. Verma grew up in Gujarat, India, and developed an interest in medicine after encountering a teenager with acute myeloid leukemia during her pediatric rotation. Her goal is to improve survival outcomes for children and young adults with leukemia. Recently relocated from Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Verma enjoys the diversity of the Washington, DC area. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, cooking, watching movies, and practicing yoga. She also volunteers at her daughter’s high school on the diversity, equity, and inclusion board. Dr. Verma’s proudest accomplishment is being a part of her patients’ cancer journeys, providing care and support to families during challenging times.
