Dr. Elizabeth Jean is a pediatric psychologist who works exclusively with the Neurology department at Pediatric Specialists of Virginia (PSV), supporting children and adolescents as they navigate the emotional and behavioral challenges that often accompany neurologic conditions. Based in our Fairfax clinic, Dr. Jean partners closely with neurologists to help patients and families with medication adherence, adjustment to diagnosis, and chronic pain, ensuring care that addresses both medical and psychological needs. She earned her undergraduate degree from Howard University and her doctorate from Kent State University, and completed specialized training through her internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and her fellowship at Levine Children’s Hospital.
Raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, Dr. Jean was drawn to psychology after seeing firsthand how often young people feel misunderstood during difficult times. She is passionate about listening deeply and providing practical, compassionate strategies that help children, adolescents, and their families move forward with confidence. Her work centers on helping families find balance—so that a neurologic diagnosis does not define a child’s life, but instead becomes one part of a full, meaningful story that includes school, relationships, and the activities that matter most.
