Dr. Ian Leibowitz serves as the Medical Director of Gastroenterology at Pediatric Specialists of Virginia (PSV), specializing in pediatric gastroenterology with a focus on inflammatory bowel disease, gastro-esophageal reflux (GERD), and celiac disease. He completed his medical education at Saint George’s University and his residency at Georgetown University Hospital, where he also served as Chief Resident. He has received numerous accolades, including the Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children Subspecialist of the Year award and recognition as a “Top Doctor” in publications such as Arlington Magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine, Virginia Living Magazine, and Washingtonian.
Dr. Leibowitz is known for his compassionate and patient-centered approach, receiving high praise from families for his attentiveness and ability to connect with children. He believes his curiosity and desire to improve the lives of children motivated him to pursue medicine. After relocating to the Washington, DC area for residency in 1984, he has established strong ties within the medical community. Outside of his practice, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and participating in outdoor activities. Additionally, he volunteers with global medical teams in Honduras, reflecting his commitment to making a positive impact beyond the local community.
