Dr. Laurel Blakemore, CEO of Pediatric Specialists of Virginia (PSV), is a board-certified pediatric orthopaedic surgeon with over two decades of experience. She specializes in scoliosis, complex spinal deformity, and general pediatric orthopaedics. Dr. Blakemore completed her fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics at Case Western Reserve University, her residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Michigan, and her internship at Stanford Affiliated Hospitals. She earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama.
Dr. Blakemore is a recognized leader in her field, serving as President of the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS)—only the second woman in its history to hold this role—and as Vice President of the Pediatric Spine Foundation. She has served on the board of directors for the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America (POSNA) and SRS, and has been honored as a Top Doctor in Northern Virginia Magazine. Her research contributions include publications on adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, pediatric growth patterns, and injury prevention, which have advanced the field of pediatric orthopaedics.
