Dr. Maureen Monaghan is the Medical Director of Psychology at Pediatric Specialists of Virginia (PSV) and a pediatric psychologist with 20 years of experience. She works exclusively with PSV’s Urology department in Fairfax, where she partners with children, families, and clinicians to support coping, resilience, and overall well-being. Her clinical interests include pediatric urology, adherence to medical regimens, parenting support, and helping navigate the transition from pediatric to adult care. Dr. Monaghan is dedicated to ensuring that patients and families have the skills and confidence needed to meet important developmental and health-related milestones.
Originally from Wilmington, Delaware, Dr. Monaghan earned her BA in Psychology from the University of Delaware and completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Virginia. She continued her specialized training with an internship in Clinical Child Psychology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and a fellowship in Pediatric Psychology at Children’s National Hospital. She is also a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). Dr. Monaghan values the privilege of partnering with families and supporting each child’s unique journey toward health and growth.
