Dr. Michael McCown is a dedicated pediatric pulmonologist at Pediatric Specialists of Virginia’s (PSV) Fairfax clinic, specializing in pulmonary medicine. A St. Louis native, he earned his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University in Florida and completed his pediatric residency at the National Capital Consortium, which included Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda Naval Hospital. He further specialized in pediatric pulmonology through a fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital.

With 21 years of service in the United States Army, Dr. McCown has extensive experience as a flight surgeon, general pediatrician, and pediatric pulmonologist. He has held leadership roles, including serving as Center Director for the Triservice Cystic Fibrosis Center. His professional interests focus on cystic fibrosis, caring for medically complex children, and exercise physiology.

Outside of work, Dr. McCown enjoys cycling, coaching youth and blind hockey, and spending quality time with his family.
