Dr. Thanh Nguyen is a distinguished Pediatric Neurologist and the Medical Director of the Neurology department at Pediatric Specialists of Virginia (PSV). With board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology, Dr. Nguyen specializes in a broad range of pediatric neurological conditions, including seizures, epilepsy, headaches, movement disorders, cerebral palsy, tics, and brain malformations. Her clinical interests also encompass stroke, weakness, and neuro-critical care.
Dr. Nguyen completed her undergraduate studies at Loyola University of New Orleans in 2002 and earned her MD from Tulane University School of Medicine in 2006. She did her Residency at Children’s National Medical Center in 2009 followed by her Fellowship at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago in 2012. Dr. Nguyen’s research contributions include key publications on symptomatic cerebral vasospasm and neurogenic pulmonary edema, underscoring her commitment to advancing the field of pediatric neurology.
